For Virgins and Not-So-Virgins, this
how-to-solder workshop will take you through all the why's and how's, tips and tricks of Soldering as you create Charms! In this class we will make individual charms,
3-dimensional charms, charms using
beveled glass, found objects, bubbles, double-bubbles, and marbles. A special
side-bar of glass-cutting for those who
want to know it all! You should complete
about 5 charms - more if you work quickly.
Whether you are a true Virgin and have never soldered before...or just wish to hone your soldering skills...this Workshop is the way to learn all about soldering. Kit including Bracelet and assorted glass included. |
Is it Beverly Hills? Is it the wrong side of the tracks? No! It’s Mr. Rogers Neighborhood! A magical neighborhood of house-shapes you create...each one different...each one showcasing something special. Each student will create 2 double-sided flat glass houses filled with vintage photos and ephemera, collaged and painted (that is four whole collages...fun!). They are then soldered and linked together to create an assemblage of homes--Mr. Rogers Neighborhood...or your own. Techniques will include collage, paint, solder, and attachments. You will learn some special collage tips, tricks and techniques to create many more on your own--and you’ll want to! Glass kit included. |
Imagine little pink houses...little lit-up houses. And oh, how they glow with little tea-lights inside. A village of little houses all aglow! In this workshop we will create our own little 3-dimensional house(s) by first making delicate collages to place under glass. Each side of the house will be a mini work-of-art featuring personal imagery (that's 6 mini works of art). Techniques that involve light-play, transparent walls, and hidden shapes will be used. Then each house will be carefully assembled and soldered to its "peak" of perfection. During class, we will each make one house...more kits are available if you have time. Then, at the end of the day, we will line our houses up atop little white lights and watch our little village "glow"! |

NOTE: If you are purchasing a Workshop Registration as a gift, please let me know via email
or in a note at checkout. Your payment receipt is your confirmation...I will not send out
email confirmations until after Christmas (so as not to ruin any suprises).
Important Policy Information:
1) Workshop Registrations are NON-REFUNDABLE. However, you may sell or transfer your class to another person. Fees paid for Workshops may also be transferred to different dates/workshops offered by Sally Jean directly (space available) with a $50 deduction of the credit per class day and only provided the notice of transfer is made 30-days or more prior to original Workshop date. Within 30 days of the original workshop there is no option for this. Please note there is no guarantee of future workshops. We realize that unexpected issues may arise which prevent you from attending a Workshop - but remember that a space has been set aside for you. No one circumstance is more important than another - so this policy is firm. You must notify us in writing (via email) of any changes.
2) Lunch each day is included - except for alchoholic
beverages.
3) Accommodations, meals not listed, and transportation are not included.
4) A modest supply list will be emailed prior to the workshop.
5) Registration is online only and space is limited. Register early.
6) The workshop location will be in Missoula, Montana - details and directions will be sent to registered attendees approximately 30 days prior to the workshop. Please note that the Workshop location may not accessible by public transportation. Workshop hours are 9:30-5pm.
7) If, due to illness or another event out of my control, your Workshop is canceled, we will make every effort to reschedule it and transfer your registration. Otherwise, your registration fee will be refunded. We recommend that you take out travel insurance in the event of this occurrence. We will not be liable for any expenses beyond the Workshop Registration Fee.
8) Workshops must be paid for at the time of Registration. Please make payments online with your credit card.
