Workshop Weekend - Studio

I am thrilled to host an additional Workshop Weekends at my studio in 2008!
Let's just call this new addition to my workshop schedule the Super Secret Workshop.
Just like the others in February & June, this will be small, intimate workshops (only 10 students in each class),
filled with personal attention, bonding, and giggling galore.
Take just one workshop, or take them all!

Weekend D: August 8-10, 2008 Filled

Week E: Tuesday, September 30th and Tuesday, October 7th Filled

Spend the day learning the latest in soldering techniques in Sally Jean's studio
located in Portlands artful Pearl District
and enjoy lunch at The Paragon (referred to in "Pretty Little Things").
At the end of the day, wear your newly created art-jewelry proudly!

$150 per day

Soldering for Virgins
"The Bracelet"
For Virgins and Not-So-Virgins...a workshop filled with the basics of soldering from what type of supplies to use (and why) to the tips and tricks of achieving a smooth and shiny finish. Discover how to solder 3-dimension objects, unusual shapes and materials, and add those decorative dots. A special side-bar of glass-cutting by hand and by machine for those who want to know it all! In this class, we will make individual charms - each one being different from the other and including square charms, 3 dimensional charms, charms using beveled glass, found object charms, bubbles, double-bubbles, marbles and more. At the end of the day, we will attach the charms to a bracelet and wear our artwork proudly!

creating, we’ll delve into soldering, wire-working, glass-shaping, and attachments. We’ll find a way to show off our found objects and vintage ephemera. Imagine a Tiara created with snippets from your journal, antique letters, old family photographs, heirloom hankies, porcelain doll parts, even a discarded poptart box. Yes...even you can be a Poptart Princess! Whether you wear your Tiara every day...
or just set it atop a stack of vintage books in your art studio... its creative essence will inspire you!

Important Policy Information: 1) Cancelled Registrations are refundable, less a $50 cancellation fee per class, prior to 60 days before the workshop. There will be no refunds on cancelled registrations less than 60 days prior to a workshop. However, you may transfer your workshop to another party but you must notify us with their information prior to the workshop weekend. 2) Lunch each day at The Paragon is included - except for alchoholic beverages. 3) Accommodations, meals not listed, and transportation are not included. 4) A modest supply list will be sent upon registration. 5) Registration is on-line only and space is limited.
